Laying and finishing instructions:
After laying, the parquet floor must be sanded over the entire surface in preparation for the surface treatment. This is done by bringing the walnut strips, which are approx. 0.5 mm higher, to an even level with the parquet.

The use of the slightly higher strips ensures that no gaps occur between the parquet strips during the laying or the subsequent sanding.

It is a good idea to place the sandpaper (43020) over a small sanding block to ensure that even pressure can be applied to the surface when sanding.

Surface treatment:
After thoroughly removing the sanding dust, you can paint the parquet with our clear varnish (43007).

If you would like to achieve a high-gloss effect, as shown in our pictures, sand the parquet - after the first clear lacquer coat has completely dried - with fine-grained sandpaper (grit 600 / item 43020) and paint the surface again. You can apply the lacquer generously here. Repeat this process until you have achieved the desired result.

You will see that the processing, laying and surface treatment can be done without any problems. The only things required are patience and thoroughness: the better you sand, the smoother and more impressive your parquet will look later.

Alternatively, you can coat the parquet with our clear liquid wax (43010). The effort here is very manageable and the application very simple. The wood gets a very natural and beautiful silky shine from the light layer of wax. Please note that generally only one layer of wax should be applied, as the wood is then saturated and any further layer cannot penetrate the wood!
